Even if the weather have been a bit rough with mainly fresh breeze from north-east, low temperatures and rain the fishing have really picked up the last couple of days.
Some really nice halibuts have been caught, yesterday the biggest was 155cm and today Pim and his friends from the Netherlands within one hour managed to catch two halibuts, 159cm and 170cm. Like almost all big halibuts caught this season the bait was small coalfish. The shallow sandy areas have also produces some big cods up to 15-20kg. Some groups have been targeting the wolffish with a good result and fish up to 7-8kg. The big coalfish start to show up on shallow water and soon we will be able to target them with top water lures. The most unexpected catch this week was a thorny skate, actually caught on a shad.
