week 33, 2018

It is heading towards autumn. Something noticeable in the latter part of August, with darker nights and wet weather. It is not always so, but it is quite typical at the end of the last summer month.

Though it does not matter when catching fish! If you are lucky enough to get both nice weather and good fishing, then I think you should be very happy! And the recent fishing has been good, both cod and halibut on the outside and mackerel in the fjords. For those who like flatfish, the end of summer is a perfect time to try fishing for plaice and dab. And the more we approach the autumn, the better the halibut fishing will become.

Last week’s largest catches: cod 24 and 21 kg, halibut 30 and 27 kg, mackerel close to 1.5 kg
