You are welcome to fish for free in Norwegian sea waters, provided that you follow a set of simple rules:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"row pull-down-20 pull-down-20-xs\">\n<div class=\"col-md-12 col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"single-law\">\n<div class=\"content-body ezxmltext-field\">\n<h3>You are welcome to fish for free in saltwater in Norway.<\/h3>\n<h3>There are some regulations you have to follow:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Use hand held tackle only<\/li>\n<li>Do not fish protected species:<br \/>\nProtected all year:<br \/>\nspiny dogfish, basking shark, porbeagle, blue ling, lobster, bluefin tuna, silk shark, eel, wrasse<br \/>\nProtected part of the year (see www.fdir.no or ask your host):<br \/>\nGreenland halibut, halibut, lumpfish, redfish<\/li>\n<li>Follow the regulations for minimum size of fish<\/li>\n<li>It is illegal to sell your catch<\/li>\n<li>Keep a distance of no less than 100 metres from fish farms when fishing<\/li>\n<li>You are allowed to take out 10 kg of fish or fish products upon leaving Norway. If you have been fishing\u00a0from a registered fishing camp, you can take up to 20 kg of fish or fish products upon leaving. Note that you have to leave Norway for seven days before you can come back and take a new export quota out of the country.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>From 1 January 2018<\/strong>, new rules apply to how much fish can be taken from Norway as a recreational fisher.<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>You are allowed to take out 10 kg of fish or fish products upon leaving Norway. If you have been fishing from a registered fishing camp, you can take up to 20 kg of fish or fish products upon leaving.<\/li>\n<li>You can no longer export trophy fish in addition to the quota.<\/li>\n<li>Note that you have to leave Norway for seven days before you can come back and take a new export quota out of the country.<\/li>\n<li>Freshwater species, such as salmon, trout and char are not subject to the quota.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Some of the coastal fish stocks are under pressure and simple and effective regulations are implemented in order to ensure that future generations also can enjoy fishing for recreation in Norway.
